Vikasa Yoga

Inspired by the notion of personal integration and evolution, our founder, Kosta Miachin developed the Vikasa Method to reflect his deeply held belief that yoga can be a tool of transformation: a means to helping individuals evolve physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. Kosta resides and teaches yoga in Koh Samui most of the year when he is not otherwise training or teaching in other countries. Born in Eastern Europe, with extensive time spent in Canada, Europe, America and Asia, Kosta is very much a global yogi with a global vision. The vision for Vikasa yoga was born on Koh Samui with Kosta’s realization that the deeper dimension of yoga is a spiritual journey and a conscious evolution of the individual. Seeing this as the ultimate human endeavor, he committed his life to supporting others on this path. With his wealth of knowledge and experience came the understanding that yoga is an ever evolving process and unfolding of one’s own nature. “You cannot do yoga, Yoga of is your natural state.”
All levels are welcome. Come with an open heart, mind, and body.

Workshop Description:

1) Vikasa – Balanced. 100% practice. (Level – intermediate.)

A classic Vikasa practice based on rules and principles of Ha-Tha yoga designed to create a deep meditative effect and balanced state at the end of practice. As always, challenging on a physical level, highly concentrating on mental level and leading to deep savasana/relaxation and meditative state as a final result at the end. Level is intermediate, so do not expect an emphasis on alignment. Rather, the goal will be to stay in continuous flow and experience the “state” of yoga.

2) Vikasa – Going Deeper. 100% practice. (Level – intermediate or advanced)

Taking it a step further, practice this deep challenging flow with Kosta. Expect more challenging asana practice, arm balances and inversions. Again, emphasis is on experiencing deep meditative, balanced state, or yoga.

3) Vikasa – Psycho-energetic. 30% theory 70% practice. Level – (intermediate – ability to sit still)- MASTERCLASS

Explore dimensions of yoga beyond asana. Practice powerful pranayama techniques on energetic level, followed by some internal practice. Techniques will be explained briefly, following by practice and tips on incorporating these elements into self-practice.
