'Active Movement from Your Core - How to get into a Posture' (By Simon Borg)

People often think of ‘core’ work in yoga as the hardening of the abdomen, whereas in fact it is more to do with the ability to move from your core.

The methods taught here are the foundations of a sound traditional yoga practice, real internal martial arts as well as modern exercise physiology that can give you core strength with total freedom in your body.

'Gravity with Grace - Inversion (By Tymi Howard) 

Saturday, 5th Nov 2016 (10.30am - 12.30pm)

This challenging playful workshop class is for the yogi who desires more than what the standard yoga class offers. Tap into your deep core, move and flow from your center and stand true in your power with grace.

We will tap into our deep core connections, wake up & strengthen the upper body as we learn exercises & variations that will help build awareness to safely and skillfully practice crow (and various transitions), headstands, handstands, forearm balances and creative fun variations. Come ready to tap into your true power, flow with grace and dance with gravity! Please bring a block.

‘Resistance Training From Your Core: Trying to Leave a Posture’ (By Simon Borg)

Sunday, 6th Nov 2016 (08.30pm - 12.30pm)

Resistance training has been shown to be one of the most important types of exercise for enhancing health and longevity. However, when practiced incorrectly, as is often the case, it can cause physical damage or physiological stress.

In this session Simon will show you how to get the benefits of resistance training in static postures (asanas) and dynamic exercises (vinyasas) with no risk of injury.

Gratitude Flow”/ Heart, Hips & Hamstrings (By Tymi Howard)

Sunday, 6th Nov 2016 (10.30pm - 12.30pm)

Open up to the heart of your practice. Learn how to intelligently and efficiently open the shoulders, chest, heart and spine to experience the power of the Anahata Chakra.

As our hearts open they literally become "unstruck" and we are able to experience the flow and grace of life as pure bliss. This vinyasa practice will include a flowing standing sequence, quad/ psoas release and then move into shoulder and heart opener variations. A loving, strong and joy filled practice of thanks and gratitude.

Who is Simon Borg Oliver & Tymi Howard

Simon Borg Oliver

Simon is the co-founder of Yoga Synergy System - one of Australia's oldest and most respected yoga schools - is a registered physiotherapist, a reseach scientist and a university lecturer.

The unique Yoga Synergy System is based on deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology of traditional Hatha Yoga. Simon has been teaching since 1982 and has been regularly invited to teach at workshops and teacher training courses internationally since 1990.

He was introduced to Yoga at an early age and has studied directly with Sri B.K.S Iyengar, Sri K. Patthabhi Jois, Sri T.K.V Desikachar, Natanaga Zhander (Shandor Remete) and Master Zhen Hua Yang.

Tymi Howard

Tymi is known in the yoga community as a “Teacher of Teachers” and a skillful graceful practitioner. Students fall in love with her dynamic, playful style of teaching, artistic sequencing and music! Self proclaimed travel junky, blogger and animal rights advocate, she is a lover of God, Life and Yoga. Tymi is forever a student and grateful to all of her teachers, students and family who continue to inspire!
